Welcome to my photography website.

Ever since I was a teenager I've had a strong passion for vivid colour, bright sunshine, artful design, and the way that a camera can capture the emotional essence of any given moment.  Whether it be a meticulously crafted still-life, an amazing tropical sunset, a young bear cub in the wild, the sexy glamour studio project, or that perfect summer flower.  I'm always in awe of the sheer beauty that exists within our natural world.

My early 35mm film days were mostly influenced and inspired by an overwhelming desire to travel overseas.  I'm originally from Kent, England, but after completing art-photog college, I decided to go "walkabout"  in the summer of 1976.  Many moons and countries later, I now call beautiful southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, my home.

Flower photography over the years has become my niche specialty.  I love the seemingly endless spectrum of both bold and subtle colours, plus the enormous variety of intricate shapes & form.  Living here in picturesque Victoria, the "city of gardens"  with its very mild sub-Mediterranean climate, affords me a year round opportunity to shoot flowering plants, shrubs, trees, and all things flora.

The Pacific Northwest region is also a wonderful location for landscape scenery and nature photography, so this will increasingly become another focus of mine.  I spend a lot of time outdoors, exploring my local area, and I am constantly pre-visualizing & planning the next shots that I would like to take.

Cheers,

KEV
